As part of NAPKIN's ongoing relationship with UCD and the wider education system in Ireland, MAD BAD STUDIOS joined a one-day creative journey exploring all things AI.

The day
A one-day intensive with UCD students, mixing short talks, live demos and hands-on studio time. We opened with a session on how AI is reshaping creative practice inside working studios — where it accelerates the process, where it still gets in the way, and where craft is more important than ever.
What we shared
We walked through our own workflow — how briefs enter the studio, how we use AI to sketch strategy and rough concepts, and where we hand back to designers, editors and animators to finish the work. Students then worked in teams on a live prompt, presenting back at the end of the day.
Why it matters
The next generation of creatives is graduating into an industry that already runs on AI-augmented tools. Getting into the room early — while the work is being figured out — matters far more than lecturing from a distance.
